\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In this article, we take a look at the Arc’teryx Atom Hoody.\u00a0 This jacket was previously know as the Atom LT Hoody.\u00a0 No matter what it’s called, it is one of Arc’teryx’s most popular jackets.\u00a0 The Atom series of jackets all have a synthetic CoreLoft insulation keeping you warm.\u00a0 This particular piece has 60 gsm of the CoreLoft Compact in the front, back, sleeves and hood.\u00a0 On the sides from under the armpit down to the bottom hem is a stretchable fleece that increases the jackets breathability.\u00a0\u00a0<\/h5>
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This combination of insulation and fleece makes this jacket very versatile.\u00a0 It can be used as a mid-layer while hiking or climbing, but it’s also great as a stand alone jacket.\u00a0 The Atom Hoody is perfect for everyday around town outings as well.\u00a0 With the stretchy fleece panels on the side, if there is a cold wind, you will feel the cold air through it.\u00a0 A light layer over the Atom will solve this problem.\u00a0 I personally like wearing the Arc’teryx Gamma lightweight softshell on top, or an Arc’teryx Squamish Hoody.\u00a0 Both are great choices.\u00a0 But the fleece panels can be an advantage in higher output activities, where breathability is important.\u00a0\u00a0<\/h5>
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The jacket has two nice pockets on the sides, and a smaller zippered pocket on the inside.\u00a0 The hood is helmet compatible with an adjustment on the back.\u00a0 There is also an adjustment pull chord on the bottom hem as well.\u00a0<\/h5>
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Overall, the jacket is very comfortable, and a joy to wear.\u00a0 This jacket just feels great!\u00a0 It is easy to see why the Arc’teryx Atom Hoody is so popular.\u00a0<\/h5>
