The Peak Design Everyday Backpack

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack

This article is all about the Peak Design Everyday Backpack.  I personally own two, an older 20L and a newer 30L version.  I use the 20L for my photography / camera gear, and the 3oL for weekend and short travel trips.  This is one of the most versatile, and durable backpacks you’ll ever find.  It’s just great for so many different things.

Build and Features:

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack is “built like a tank”.  It is very durable and water resistant.  There are several straps that can be moved around with a series of loops built into the bag at at all sides to connect the straps to.  It can be set up to hold just about anything that you may want to carry with you.  The top of the backpack opens with a special latch that can be adjusted according to the size of the load inside the backpack.  This is a very clever design.  The sides of the pack both open up fully with very nice double zippers that are built to last, so the bag can be opened up easily from either end.   Each zipper has a small strap attached to it that can be opened up and strung through a loop on the bag to secure the zipper so that it can not be opened.  This is a nice security feature.

On each side of the bag is a nice expandable pocket, great for holding a water bottle or even a tripod.  There is a strap in each pocket for securing anything you want in the pocket, and one one side, there is a special stretchy chord with a clip to easily attach and detach your keys.  A nice little feature.  I’m sure that you can attach other things to it, but it works great with my keys.  (I won’t loose them!).  The side pockets also have drain holes at the bottom of each side for water to drain out.

The shoulder straps are very comfortable and the backpack also comes with an adjustable sternum strap.  A waist strap is available separately if you need extra support for carrying a heavier load.  The shoulder straps are nicely padded, and are attached to a “swivel like” connection at the top back of the pack.  The straps when not in use “stick” to the back of the pack with little magnets, so that they don’t flop around when not worn on your back.

The Everyday Backpack also has three nice handles, one large handle on the top, and one on each side.  This makes the pack very easy to carry.  At the top of the bag is a zipper that opens up a compartment to hold a laptop computer, or a tablet.  This “pocket” can be adjusted in depth at accommodate any size piece, large or small.  There is also a couple small pockets in there as well for extra storage.

Inside Storage And The Removable Flexible Folding Shelves

A key feature of the Peak Design Everyday Backpack is the three Flexible Folding shelves that come with this backpack.  These shelves attach to the inside of the bag with Velcro, and can be configured to carry just about anything, or removed completely.  They are great for photography equipment.  (Carrying lenses, hoods, cameras, etc.).   The two sides of this backpack can be fully opened, allowing you to access whatever you need in the bag easily, as well as load things into it.

A very nice design feature of this bag, is the fact that you can wear this on your back, pull one arm out of one side shoulder strap, and sling the bag around your side to your front and unzip the side of the bag to access whatever you need. This is especially great for photographers.

Conclusion:

The Peak Design Everyday Backpack is a great backpack for just about any use.  It is a very high quality backpack, with a lot of features, that is built to last.
