Premium outdoor apparel from Cortazu. If you haven’t heard of Cortazu, or tried their products, let me introduce you to them. They are a company from the Netherlands that designs and produces high quality outerwear that is made for mountain adventures. If you enjoy activities such as skiing, snowboarding, climbing, or hiking, this article will show you what they have offer. Cortazu is really a great company, on a mission!
The purple jacket shown above is the Insulated Hardshell. This is a waterproof, windproof shell that uses a Dermizax EV 2-layer membrane. It has a recycled insulation that equals the warmth of 800 fill power down. A great piece for colder days. It also has many great features, including pit zips, a helmet compatible hood, tapped seams, waterproof zippers, and several pockets.
To the left is the Mountain Hardshell. This hardshell is made for climbing, as well as any other activities where you may need protection from the elements. This jacket is full of features, more than any other jacket that I’ve reviewed!
They also have the All-Weather hardshell, shown at the bottom of the page. This is a great versatile jacket for any type of use. All have a Dermizax EV membrane to keep you protected from rain, snow, wind, or whatever nature throws at you.
The yellow jacket is the recycled mid-layer insulated jacket. This is a really warm jacket great as a stand alone piece or as a layer under a shell. The insulation is made from recycled water bottles, and is equal to 700 fill power down. The outer fabric has a DWR coating to help resist moisture. Over the shoulders is a waterproof / windproof fabric for further protection. The jacket is also very breathable for high output activities in colder conditions.
The blue jacket is the All-Weather Mid-Layer. This is one of the most versatile jackets you will find. It is lightweight, stretchable, breathable, windproof, water resistant, and warm. What more can you ask for? This jacket is great for those activities with lots of movement, as it will stretch with every movement you make. Whether your in town or out in the mountains, this is a great piece!
The Fleece AR is a mid-weight fleece with a soft, silky outer face, and a warm, soft feel inside. It is stretchy, which makes it ideal for vigorous activities. It has a total of five nice pockets, two on the inside, and three zippered pockets on the outside. It also has thumb loops on the sleeves. A trim fit makes it perfect for wearing under other layers on colder days, or stand alone for those days when you just need a bit extra warmth.
Cortazu also offers three different pants. Their Stretch Pants are a very comfortable lightweight pant that is very stretchy and perfect for hiking or everyday wear. A casual fitting pant that can resist wind and light rain. The All-Weather shell pant is a heavy duty pant that is perfect for skiing or snowboarding. It has a waterproof and windproof membrane, and lots of great features. It’s tough and durable! It also is available in an insulated version for those extra cold adventures.
Their latest addition is a softshell jacket, the Active stretch AR Softshell, shown below on the left. I have to say, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces. It just feels great! It has a silky smooth fabric that is very stretchy. It has an attractive sheen to the outer fabric that looks really nice. This jacket is made for movement. A simple jacket that is water and wind resistant. It’s a versatile jacket that can be used in so many ways.
On the bottom right is the All Weather Hardshell. Their most versatile hardshell. It is basically a bit lighter than the Mountain Hardshell, with a few less pockets, but still loaded with a lot of nice features.
